Step 1: Choose Your Niche.
So step number one is to choose your niche. Choose the industry you're going to serve. One of the biggest mistakes a lot of us Christian entrepreneurs make when we're starting out is, we try to sell to everybody. You can't do it sis. Number one reason is that it is too expensive and number two that's just not what God purpose you to do. You know in Corinthians when Paul's talking about each of us being made to be a piece of the body, the ear can't say to the mouth, “I want to talk” and the mouth can’t say to the ear, “I want to hear”, same thing with us. We are not called to serve all 7 billion people on earth, we are called to serve our piece of the body. So you need to understand what that piece is. That is your niche, where God created you to serve.
Here at Godlywoodgirl, I'm in the niche of personal development. God put me here to empower women with the resources they need to live their purpose. And that's all about what personal development is. I'm not here to help you get fit, even though I really believe in being healthy and active. And I am not here to help you eat well, even though I really believe in eating correctly. I'm not here to help you travel even though I think it's beautiful and people are able to travel the world and see all these different things. I'm here to help you live your purpose sis. That's what I do.
You ought to get really clear on the niche that you are serving and if you don't know how to do that, make sure you get into the Godlywoodgirl School of Business. There, I help you identify exactly where God purposed you to serve as an entrepreneur based on the gifts, talents and abilities already given you sis.
Step 2: Build Your Audience
The second step is to build your audience and this is where the $50 comes in. Now, to build your audience online, you're going to use a little something called a sales funnel. A sales funnel includes a lead magnet, something that you give away for free in exchange for somebody's email address, and an autoresponder that delivers that lead magnet to your subscriber once they have asked you for it. Okay, so we do this by creating a lead magnet, usually it should be digital, because I don't want it to cost you any money. So something that's going to attract your niche. Okay, so if I'm in personal development, and I'm not going to create a nice that helps you get fit, even though I've done that before, and when I first started, you want to create a lead magnet that actually attracts your niche to use if you want to attract your potential customers to you. So I recommend a checklist, e- book and download an audio file, whatever it is. Just make sure it's digital so it doesn't cost you anything. Now you need to set up what's called your autoresponder that is the automated way you're going to be able to give that lead magnet to your potential audience member when they ask you for it, you can use MailChimp to do this.
MailChimp is free up to the first 2000 subscribers which is pretty incredible, or the first 12,000 emails that you send. If you don't know about lead magnets and autoresponders and things like that. I show you how to do this step by step at the Godlywoodgirl School of Business. Come and join me and I'll show you how to get your own lead magnet and sales funnel set up. Now once you have your lead magnet and your funnel set up, this where I want you to use that $50 you can use YouTube ads which are pretty cheap. You can use Instagram ads Facebook ads to drive traffic into your funnel. The whole goal is to have people see your lead magnet and give you their email address so that you can deliver that lead magnet to them on autopilot using your autoresponder.
The $50 will help you do this a lot faster than if you were just organically doing it on social media. Now I built my email list to about 2007 subscribers organically on social media before I ever started doing any paid promotions. Now I do pay promotions as part of my business model here at Godlywoodgirl. I spend about $300 to $500 a month on ads for Godlywoodgirl. But you don't have to start out that way. I didn't start that way and literally built step-by-step using free resources on social media. So you can absolutely do this. But if you want to do it faster, take that $50 and use it to spend on ads to drive traffic into your funnel. Step 3: Ask Your Audience what they need.
Step number three once you've built your audience, and I recommend building to about 1000 subscribers, now is the fun part. You are going to ask them what they want in your t- shirts. Don't guess the kind of shirts your audience want. Ask the audience that you have curated online. They will tell you. I want you to send them an email and say: “Hey, I'm creating a new t shirt line for you. What do you want me to make”? And they'll tell you so listen to their suggestions. Listen to their feedback, their interests, their tastes, and then include them in the process as you design this t- shirt collection for them.
One of the best people who does this is lady boss Toulon, and she has this amazing fitness brand online and she creates shirts directly for her audience. Usually, she sells out of the shirts before she even officially launches to the public because our audience is so in tune to what she's actually creating for them. Do the same thing. Make your audience part of your t- shirt business. So as you're designing them, your audience is already budgeting for them. They're already counting down to when it's coming out. So when you launch your shirt, they snatch it up.
Step 4: Create Your T- Shirt.
So step number four is to create your t- shirt line based on what your audience said they wanted. You can select a t- shirt printer that caters to what your audience want. If your audience said they want joggers from you then find print-on-demand t- shirt business that actually gives you joggers that you can print on demand. They want crop tops and find a print-on-demand printer who will give you crop tops that you can print on demand. They exist we are in one of the best times to become an online entrepreneur. It's Incredible. Use these free print on demand services, they're free for you to set up your shirts, set up your shop, design your shirts, and you only pay when you sell a shirt. It's absolutely incredible.
Step 5: Launch Your Shirt.
Finally, step number five now that you've created your line, go ahead and launch it to your audience. Launching does not mean making one announcement. Launching is a series of touch points that your audience knows that you're out there. Kind of like when a movies coming out, right? They don't just release the movie and say I hope people know that the movies out. Now they do commercials, they do interviews, they do social media, they do a bunch of different things to make the audience know that the movie is coming out, you want to do the same thing for your - shirt business. Usually, somebody needs to see something about nine to twelve times before they register what the message is. So you ought to have at least nine to twelve touch points with your audience during your launch. And if it's your email list, these nine to twelve touch points can include you doing live streams, giveaways, email blasts, broadcasts, emails, automations, trainings, webinars, whatever you want it to be Just make sure that you have a launch for your T shirt collection.
