Teespring anybody? In this video, I’m going to show you how to use Teespring to launch your Christian t- shirt business. If you are ready to learn how to launch your Christian t- shirt business and you want to use Teespring to get it done, stay to the end of this video because I’m going to show you the exact formula that I give to my students at the Godlywoodgirl School of Business to launch their Christian t- shirt business.

Step 1: Identify The Purpose Of Your T- Shirt Business.
The very first step is to identify the purpose of your business. When a lot of people start a business online, they dive straight into creating the business, creating the product, and getting excited. But here is the problem; if you start an online business that God did not purpose you to have, you are creating another job or yourself. Yes, I said it. You are creating another job for yourself.
It is completely possible to build an online business that you don’t like, that feels like a chain around your neck when you have to work on it. That is why at the Godlywoodgirl School of Business, I teach you to start with what God purposed you to do. The foundation of who you are, your authentic self. That is where you start from when you want to launch your own business.
To find out the purpose of your Christian business, you need to examine what God put you on earth to do, how he purposed you to serve people, who he purposed you to speak with. First identify what that is and then you are going to now the purpose of your t- shirt business.
Personally, God purposed me to empower other women of Christ with the resources they need to live their purpose. My purpose comes from my testimony; from my background. When I told people I wanted to be a Christian filmmaker, they told me I would fail because I was too black, female and Christian. Out of that, this desire to empower other women to say yes to their God-given purpose because nobody empowered me to do it, was born. I had to only listen to what God was telling me. That was how my Christian t- shirt business was born; creating t- shirts to empower women of Christ to believe in their God- given purpose as possible.
I can easily point to this Godlywoodgirl Rise t- shirt that I’m wearing. It is all about showing women of Christ that if they step into their God- given purpose, they will rise to the top. You are the crème of the top sis! You are God’s chosen possession and you are destined to achieve more like he says in the bible.
That is where my Christian t- shirt was born. That is the purpose of my Christian t- shirt business. You ought to be really clear on the purpose of your Christian business before you launch. Step 2: Sign Up For a Free Account on Teespring.com
Once you know the purpose of your t- shirt business, sign up for Teespring. Teespring is an incredible print-on-demand platform. I have had a Christian t- shirt business since 2011, 2012 hen I launched my first movie.
Back in the day, we didn’t have print-on-demand sis. If it did exist, I didn’t know about it. I use had to go to a local printer, print out the shirt, and ship them whenever people bought it from me. It was awful.
Now, with print-on-demand, all you do is to set up a store online, and the t- shirt print-on-demand manufacturer will manufacture it, print it, ship it, and handle returns. It is amazing. Your job is to design and sell your shirt. That’s it. That’s your job. Print-on-demand is an amazing business modules that I have ever seen because you don’t have to hold inventory. That is what Teespring does.
Teespring allows you to list your own t- shirt on their website for sale and you don’t have to pay them. This is the thing about these print-on-demand shops. They are incredible because they don’t even charge you to use them. They give you a free account to set up your store and they make their money back when you make a sale. They get the cost of manufacturing the shirt and you get to price your shirt competitively so you still get a profit.
That is how they make their money back they don’t even charge it. You can start your t- shirt business for $0 today. It is amazing. You can go to Teespring.com, register your free account, and go ahead to sign up.
Step 3: Do Market Research To Identify What Your Audience Wants.
Once you have signed up for Teespring, you now know the kind of t- shirts and the styles that Teespring provides. What you are going to do is called market research. You are going to find out what your potential audience wants from your shirts using the inventory that Teespring has.
One of the most common mistakes we often do is when launching an online Christian t- shirt business is that we get our hearts set on a certain type of style and we get to the manufacturer only to discover that they don’t have that style. That is why I like to advise my students to pick a printer first, take a look at their inventory, and find from the inventory, the styles that your audience love.
If you don’t have an audience to do market research on, sis, get to the School of Business. There, I will show you how to build your audience using the power of email marketing to build an email list so you can ask your audience what they want. This will save you from creating products that they don’t really want.
I have a system that I call the Purpose Profit Formula and it is how I am able to sell any product that I am making before I release it. It is incredible. I will teach you that formula at the School of Business. You ought to do market research and find out the kind of shirt and styles that your customer wants. Do they want long sleeves, short sleeves, V- necks, scooped neck, crop tops, extra-long shirts, or boyfriend tees? What kind of shirt do they want?
You need to go through Teespring’s inventory, select the ones that you like, show it to your audience and ask them the kinds they prefer. For me to do a market research, I have a really big following on Instagram. I sometimes post the style on my Instagram story and ask people to vote the one they want. I also have an email list of about 2000 email subscribers so just send an email out to people who are interested in Christian t- shirt and say: “hey, I am launching a new t- shirt, which styles do you prefer”?
Whichever way you do your market research is completely up to you. Just make sure you do market research to know what your audience wants. If you don’t yet have an audience, there is a way to go about this. Look at the competitors who are selling t- shirts just like yours, and take a look at bestselling styles on their websites. The reason why I say it is a kind of workaround is that sometimes, some of the websites will not list by highest selling or most popular. As such, you won’t get to know the styles which are selling really well and the ones which are not.
If you do find a Christian t- shirt business in your niche which sorts by popularity, take a look at what is selling most on their websites. It could be their V- necks, scooped neck, white shirt, black shirt, or blue shirt. Take a look at that style and let that be your first trial of shirts that you make.
Step 4: Design Your T- Shirt Using the Design Template.
The fourth step is to design your shirts once from your market research, you get to know what your audience wants. Again, one of the most common mistakes that I made when I sold my Christian t- shirts in 2011, before I came to understand this formula, was guessing at the design.
We guess at the template as such when we print our shirts, they look wanky because it was not designed correctly. You don’t want to do this. You ought to design your t- shirt according to the specs that Teespring gives you for that shirt. One incredible thing about these print on demand services is that they give you design templates for FREE. I can’t believe it either sis, but they give you the design template for free.
Whatever shirt that your customers selected, go ahead and select it, download the design template and use that to put your t- shirt design together. If you don’t know how to design your shirt, if you don’t know about brand personality, color scheme, or tone, make sure you get to the Godlywoodgirl School of Business. There, I will show you how to create a brand personality for your business so you can stand out from everybody else. I don’t want you designing generic t- shirts here. I want you to design t- shirts that really represent who God purposed you to be as an entrepreneur, and the business that God created you to serve.
Step 5: Upload Your Designs To Teespring.
Once you design your t- shirts using the correct design template, go ahead and upload your design to Teespring. This is one of the most fun parts of creating your t- shirt business because you get to see the designs you had in your mind for a very long time come to life. Teespring is going to give you mockup images that you can use in your social media marketing and promotions on your website.
You can go ahead and list them for sale right on Teespring itself. It is absolutely incredible. Upload your design templates and create your t- shirt line.
Step 6: Order Your T- Shirt Proof from Teespring.
The sixth step is a very important one which you should not skip. Order your t- shirt! I don’t want you to make the mistake of using a printer which doesn’t meet your expectations. I remember when I was first figuring out print-on-demand, I went through four or five different printers before I settled on the one that I love, Printful. I am a big fun of Printful and that is what I use in my business.
When I printed and ordered a shirt, I didn’t get this gluey smell as compared to some of the other printers that I used. Make sure you order your shirt to see the quality, how long it takes to ship it, how the colors look like on the actual print. You want to make sure that you test out the shirt to see if you can stretch it, see if it rips quickly, if it conforms to your body the way it is supposed to.
Order the shirts to see the quality that you get. If you don’t like the quality, go to another print-on-demand printer.
Step 7: Launch Your T- Shirt Business On Teespring.
Finally, the seventh step is to launch your store. Listen as Christian entrepreneurs, often times, we forget that we have to tell people about our business. You’ve done all the hard work of doing the market research, designing your t- shirt using the right templates, put your t- shirt line together, tell people that you have launched.
You have ordered the shirt so you know it is of good quality, wear them out and let people come up to you saying: “hey, that looks hot, where did you get it”? Then you and give them your card and say: “you can get it on my website sis”.
Wear it on social media, do livestreams in it, promote it on social media. If you don’t know how to do social media marketing, make sure you get to the Godlywoodgirl School of Business.
