If you are wondering how to write an e-book business plan, then I am going to give you a step-by-step formula that I use here at Godlywoodgirl to write an e-book business plan.
My name is Stephanie Rodnez, Founder and CEO of the Godlywoodgirl and creator of the School of Business. My purpose in life is to help you achieve yours. I am super excited to present to you this four-part e-book writing series. If you missed videos 1, 2, and 3, make sure you check the icons so you can grab the entire playlist. That way, you can learn how to write, promote, and market your e-book. In this video, I am going to give you the “How to Write an E-Book Business Plan” so grab your pen and paper. STEP 1: Identify What You are Interested In.
The first step is to identify what you are interested in. When a lot of people start a business, they think about: “Oh my gosh, this is a very popular niche, this is a very popular industry, let me get into it …” The problem with this thought pattern is that it takes a lot of marketing to make a business work. Like, a lot! A lot!! A lot!!! So, if you do not like what you are doing, you are not going to want to do any marketing and consequently, you are not going to make any sales. There is no point in creating a business by doing something that you do not like.
So, the first is to identify what you like to do. If you need help doing this, I take you step-by-step through my “What is Your Passion Formula” at the Godlywoodgirl School of Business. Check out the link below to find out how you can get started.
Step 2: Identify What Other Gurus Have Written About That Subject.
Now that you understand what you are passionate about, your next job is to find what other gurus have written about that topic. Go on Amazon.com, type in our business subject, and just take a look at what is already out there. What point of view have other gurus already come up with? What subjects have they exploited? What questions have they asked? What problems have they solved?
Take a look at Amazon but do not purchase all the books. One of the great things about Amazon is that they give you the “sneak peek” inside a book. This is to help you take a look at the table of contents. That way, you can see what other subjects other gurus have already exploited in your topic.
Step 3: What Gaps Are There To Be Filled?
Step three is to figure out what gaps there are in the content that has already been written. Every single industry, regardless of what niche it is, has a gap you can fill. Every single one. It is all about taking a different spin on it. For example, here at Godlywoodgirl, I have the Godlywoodgirl T-Shirts, right? There are so many Christian t-shirt businesses online. However, the gap that Godlywoodgirl fills is that we create t-shirts that empower women of Christ to live their greatest purpose for his name. It is a very specific topic within a larger topic. That is what I want you to do. Take a look at what the gurus have written and identify the gaps that have not yet been covered. That, my love, is where you get to step number four.
Step 4: Write A Book About That Gap.
You know there is already an audience and that there is a lot of gurus that you are going to target with your marketing. Write about a book that fills the gap. This will ensure that you become the first to identify that specific subject matter when you release your business plan.
Step 5: Set up Your Sales Funnel and Market to Your Audience
Finally, once you release your book, step 5 is to go ahead and set up your sales funnel and start doing marketing so that you can build your audience. Then, you can have your e-book business plan that is amazing and that truly helps people and fills a specific gap in the industry.
